Geeky gear and t-shirts are available online

Watch all the episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation and read every Frank Miller comic book, but the only way you are really a nerd is if you wear geeky tees and have nerdy knickknacks around your house.

I'm kidding, but with these fun websites, you can fill your home and wardrobe with awesome superhero- and pop culture-related merchandise. Besides t-shirts, some of these websites sell other items like collectibles, key chains, toys, mugs, bags, hats, and all kinds of other things.

ThinkGeek: A Quick Note

The original digital storefront for geeky goods was ThinkGeek. It was founded in 1999 and sold things such as t-shirts, mugs, toys, scientific gadgets, candy, and odd computer peripherals to computer enthusiasts. Additionally, it inspired other shops to sell nerdy merchandise for all kinds of fandoms.

In May 2015, Hot Topic offered to buy the company, but was outbid by another company, GameStop, later that year. As of June 2019, ThinkGeek closed its online store and integrated its selection into GameStop's online store. On GameStop's site, you can still find ThinkGeek products, but there aren't many options. Several remnants are also available on Amazon, which has a better selection. Although ThinkGeek is now just a shell of its former self, we wanted to pay homage to it.

General Geeky Gear

From hats to mugs, and everything in between, these shops will help you prove you're the coolest geek around. You'll have no problem finding affordable gear for your favorite video games, TV shows, comics, movies, or graphic novels.

Jinx has plenty of fun gaming swag for fans of video games. Overwatch, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Cyberpunk 2077, World of Warcraft, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint, PUBG, and more are available through the site throughout the year.

For those who prefer things usually found at your local comic book store or gaming store, check out Forbidden Planet. There are so many interesting finds in the online store-from graphic novels and trading cards to costumes and anime DVDs. There is gear for all kinds of fandoms, including Studio Ghibli, Dungeons and Dragons, Doctor Who, Marvel, DC, Power Rangers, Harry Potter, Pokémon, and more.

It also offers a great Sale section, where you can find great items at a discount, like Funko Pop! There are toys, t-shirts, figurines, board games, books, plushies, etc. Due to Forbidden Planet's UK location, people living in the United States or elsewhere can expect to pay more for shipping and expect a longer shipping time. Every geek should visit Forbidden Planet at least once, as it has something for everyone.

Picks of the Week: Shut Up and Take My Money

In addition to being a great quote from Futurama, Shut Up and Take My Money is a website full of unusual, geeky trinkets you won't find anywhere else. From Star Wars lightsaber rings to Dogecoin fidget spinners and Lord of the Rings firepits to Thor's Mjolnir toilet paper holders.

Most of the products link to Etsy, but there are also links to other sites, such as Nintendo, Amazon, LEGO, Vinyl Revolution, Blockbuster, and Ruggable, so transactions are handled through these sites instead of Shut Up and Take My Money. No matter what, the site is a great place to find unique items for your collection or as gifts for your geeky friends.

For Star Wars Lovers: Star Wars Shop

Let's face it: Star Wars is one of the most geeky movies ever made. Find some cool new Star Wars merch directly from the Star Wars Shop. You'll find Funko Pops and other fun items there. You can find everything from new figures like the Bad Batch to more generic items like a long sleeve tie-dye Cloud City shirt or a Rebels vs. Empire chess set.

Obviously, the site also features a ton of awesome items from the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Trading Post. The Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire are both well represented here. Among our favorites are the First Order 709 Officer Hat and the traditional hooded brown robe worn by Black Spire on Batuu. Whichever side you align with or who your favorite Star Wars characters are, the Star Wars Shop has something for everyone.

Unusual Gifts and Gadgets: Firebox

Even though Firebox has fandom-specific finds, like a Harry Potter self-stirring mug and a Minecraft alarm clock, it tends to emphasize nerd-adjacent products, some of which are a little racy. There are also plenty of benign, kid-friendly options to balance things out. We offer toys, lights, pillows, wall art, board and card games, books, coloring books, mugs, chopsticks, coasters, and more.

They offer a wide range of unique items, such as board games about memes, Frozen Icon Lights, classic films jigsaw puzzles, personalized pillowcases, and your very own Wacky Waving Inflatable Tube Guy. No matter what your interests are, Firebox has something for geeks of all ages

Styles and Profiles: TeePublic

There are times when a plain t-shirt just won't do, and that's where TeePublic comes in. The artist design marketplace offers classic t-shirts, tri-blend t-shirts, regular and slouchy v-necks, extra soft dolmans, curvy t-shirts, with and without a ringer. It also sells tanks, hoodies, crewnecks, long sleeves, and baseball tees.

It has awesome designs including the Commodore 64, Cthulhu-The Animated Series, If You Can Read This You're a Nerd, or The Rebels Firebird. On the site, you can find nerdy shirts for all the most popular fandoms and subjects. There is also clothing for kids.

It features shirts from specific fandoms, like Star Wars, Jurassic Park, The X-Files, Doctor Who, Spider-Man,  Game of Thrones, Super Mario, Dungeons and Dragons, and Oregon Trail, along with general nerd shirts with subjects like Wi-Fi, physics, emoji, spaceships, and more.

It's not the place to shop if you want a serious design or a popular image from a show. Instead, its shirts are a mix of nerdy references, humor, and puns. Mordor Fun Run, I'm Not Procrastinating, It's Not Hoarding If It's Books, Alderaan 5-Day Forecast, Forget Lab Safety I Want Superpowers, and They See Me Rolling Top the list. Those with a nerdy sense of humor and a love for puns will appreciate Snorg Tees' apparel selections.
