SKU:UAP-FlexHD
UniFi FlexHD Access points feature a small, sleek design and compact form factor that can be placed either indoors or outdoors. The Flex HD can be mounted on tabletops, walls, poles, and ceilings.
The UniFi software controller can be installed on an on-premises PC, Mac, or Linux machine; in a private cloud; or using a public cloud service. Alternatively, you can deploy the compact UniFi Cloud Key with built-in software.
The UniFi AP Flex HD supports 802.11ac Wave 2 MU-MIMO.
With the easy-to-use interface, you can configure and manage your APs.
You can build wireless networks as big or small as you need. Start with one (or upgrade to a three-pack) and scale to hundreds while maintaining a single management system.
802.11ac Wave 1 SU-MIMO (Single-User, Multiple Input, Multiple Output) enables earlier APs, such as the UniFi AC Pro AP, to communicate with only one client at a time.
MU-MIMO (802.11ac Wave 2 MU-MIMO) technology allows a Wave 2 AP, such as the UniFi AP Flex HD, to communicate simultaneously with multiple clients - significantly increasing multi-user performance and overall user experience. An example of a four-client scenario is as follows:
Assuming the same conditions, a Wave 2 AP will provide up to 75% more performance than a Wave 1 AP. This improvement increases wireless performance and/or serves more clients at the same level of performance.
4x4 Spatial Streams At any single time, a Wave 2 AP can communicate with the following MU-MIMO clients:
- four 1x1 clients
- two 2x2 clients
- one 2x2 client and two 1x1 clients
- one 3x3 client and one 1x1 client
Wave 2 APs that are 4x4 in both radio bands perform up to 33% better than Wave 1 APs that are 3x3 in both radio bands.
A Wave 1 and Wave 2 AP has 28 independent (non-overlapping) channels: three for the 2.4 GHz band and 25 for the 5 GHz band, including DFS channels.
If you use the 2.4 GHz band in a high-density area, you will encounter self-interference and channel saturation.
When you use the 5 GHz band, you can deploy smaller cells (coverage areas), which allows you to support more clients in any cell that deploys more than one access point.
Thanks to MU-MIMO technology and 4x4 spatial streams, the UniFi AP Flex HD can support more than triple the number of users compared to a typical Wave 1 AP.
Radio link airtime limits the maximum number of users the UniFi AP Flex HD can support. The amount of traffic each device creates, types of devices, network configuration, and the presence of other Access Points on the same channel determine this.
UniFi AP Flex HD's sleek, compact design allows you to locate it close to users.
UniFi AP Flex HD provides a 4x4 MIMO mesh backhaul for twice the speed of traditional mesh solutions.
