Hands-on with Govee Neon LED Light Strip: Raise the Bar on Ambient Lighting in Your Room

Adding a little radiance to your space can do wonders for your mood. That's exactly what Govee's new LED strips do. As you may be aware, Govee has been a pioneer in the development of serious lighting solutions for your house, and this time we have their new Neon LED Light Strip.

Govee attempts to reinvent the concept of old-school neon lights with some smart features with the Govee Neon LED Strip Light. Today, we'll chat about our first impressions and views on this fantastic LED neon light strip.

Overview of the Govee Neon LED Light Strip

After their jaw-dropping lighting gadgets – Govee Immersion TV Backlight and Flow Plus Smart Lightbar – Govee Neon LED Strip is a smart RGBIC enabled home lighting solution. It flawlessly bends the aesthetics of vast colour scales and provides a high level of glitz to your surroundings. The bendable LED strip allows you to experiment and express your creativity by allowing you to create your own designs.

The exterior of the Govee Neon LED Strip is made of bendable Silicon. The LEDs within have been developed to withstand testing and curling, providing a high level of flexibility. The light strip may be bent in and around curves to create neon streaks that suit your preferences.

The RGBIC effects on the Govee Neon LED strip are divided. With the Govee Home app installed, you may experiment with a variety of colour scales to find the one that best suits your needs. The segmented colour effect is similar to the Govee Lyra floor lamp and Govee smart TV backlights that you've seen before. The Govee Neon Strip is a flexible panel, unlike the Lyra, which features a hard LED screen. Furthermore, the combination of long-lasting LEDs and a flexible external shell gives you a sense of quality. anything we didn't notice with Govee Immersion at first.

Smart Voice control is one of the smart features of the Govee Neon LED Strip. You may experiment with lights by connecting them to your smart home ecosystem with Alexa and Google Assistant support. Apart from that, the Gove Home App is where the real action is. Everything about the LED Strip is contained within the Govee Home App, I repeat, everything about the LED Strip is contained within the Govee Home App. The Lighting Modes, Presets, and Sensitivity could only be accessed once the Govee App was installed.

As time goes on, we'll discuss the design, durability, Pros and Cons, and every other aspect. So keep your grip tight.

Design

When it comes to design, there are no gimmicks or frills to discuss. It's a standard LED strip that, by the way, comes with a weatherproof external shell. The LED strip is 10 feet long and, unlike other LED strips, it is a little wider.

At the very end of the strip, there is a control box. This allows you to control some of the strip's features manually. The device is designed to be as simple as possible. Everything hinges on how skillfully you use the Govee Neon LED Strip to create your particular space aesthetic.

Mounting and Installation

The most enjoyable part is the installation. All you have to do now is pick the ideal location for the strip and let your imagination run wild. Due to its flexibility, the Neon LED strip may be used to create a variety of artistic designs.

It's adaptable enough to get around awkward corners with ease. Around ten aluminium clips are included in the packaging to assist you in mounting it to your wall. Because the metal clips must be screwed, it's best not to go against your will once you've made up your mind.

While installing, I found the adhesives to be satisfactory. The adhesives are quite strong and keep the strip together. The built-in control box is relatively unobtrusive. It's called stealthy since it doesn't get in the way of the LED strips in any way. No one would see the control box at the bottom once the LEDs are turned on.

The responsiveness of the control box was my favourite feature of it. It also has a built-in microphone. This allows you to take advantage of the music mode to its full potential. As time goes on, we'll go over the various presets and modes available in the Govee Home app.

Setup Using an App

After you've completed the installation, you'll need to deal with the app-based settings. The fact that the Govee Home App improves with each update is something I adore. The most recent version is free of bugs and significantly easier to use.

Open the app after installing it and add the Govee Neon LED Strip to it. Bluetooth is used to connect the item to your smartphone. The app takes you on a step-by-step tour of how to set up the LED strip.

The Govee House is a pleasant place to visit. You'll be able to enable sections colours and other modes, such as Music, Video, Scenic, and others, once everything is set up. The colour lab is the most enjoyable part. Each segment of the Strip can be customised based on your colour preferences. It's an addition to the current DIY mode, but it performs better than the default.

We haven't thoroughly tested each and every mode. The Music Mode is the most colourful and responsive of the ones we examined at first. That's because the device control box comes with a decent microphone that works well on its own.

Controls for the Smart Home

The Google Assistant and Alexa are built-in to the Govee Neon LED Strip right out of the box. Once linked to the smart assistants through WiFi, you can use voice commands to operate some of the strip's essential features. Because the voice control features are limited, it is recommended that you use the Govee Home app to get the most out of the LED strip.

It's worth noting that Govee has yet to implement Apple HomeKit functionality. I'm not sure why, but Govee appears oblivious to the ever-expanding Apple smart ecosystem.

Availability and Pricing

The Govee Neon LED Strip is a fantastic place to start when it comes to home automation. It's inventive and creative, and Govee deserves credit for it. The device is extremely long-lasting. The moment I pulled it out of the package, I could tell it was of high quality. There are more than a million ways to play with colours with RGBIC technology than you can think.

If you believe the Govee Neon LED Strip should be in your home, visit Amazon or, yes, the Govee Official App. The LED strip costs $70 and is available in a variety of colours. Furthermore, there is only one variant accessible, which is the 10Ft version.

The Final Word

The Govee Neon LED Strip is, in my opinion, the best pair of LED strips I've seen in a long time. Thanks to RGBIC technology, it's resilient, flexible, and pretty inventive. The hues are glitzy, and once installed, they will instantly improve your mood. The device can bring a dash of glitz and glam to your sleeping quarters.

There are no difficult installation procedures, which is a benefit. It's all up to you to hit the mark with your ingenuity. The assembly kit and mounting clips that come with it are of good quality. However, the mounting method is entirely up to you.

As usual, the smart assistant assistance is adequate but not exceptional. It's because Govee's Voice prompt still only allows you to control a restricted number of things. Also, Govee hasn't chosen whether or not to include Apple HomeKit, which, yes, takes away some of the glitz. Apart from that, if you want to add a little glitz to your space, this Neon Strip is well worth the money.
