How to Create a Telegram Poll

While instant messaging programmes such as Telegram make it simple to communicate with friends and family all around the world, they also leave possibility for misunderstanding. Step 1: Launch the Telegram app on phone.

Step 2: Depending on the device, tap or click on the group where you want to run the poll by tapping on it.

Step 3: At the bottom-left corner of your device's screen, tap the Paperclip icon.

Instead of clicking the paperclip icon on a PC, go to the top-right corner of the screen and click the three vertical dots.

Step 4: Select Poll from the submenu.

Step 5: Within the New Poll window and Under the Question field, type out your question.

Step 6: If there is a field called "Poll Options," type in answer choices there.

As you fill in the Poll Options, Telegram creates new fields. However, only 10 poll options can be added at a time by people who use the site.

Step 7: To allow users to vote anonymously on the poll, tap the toggle or tick the check box for Anonymous Voting.

Step 8: To allow for multiple answers, tap the toggle or tick the check box for Multiple Answers.

Step 9: To make the Poll only allow one correct answer, tap the toggle or check the box for Quiz Mode.

There can't be both Multiple Answers and Quiz Mode turned on at the same time in the same poll. There is also a poll field that can be used when Quiz Mode is turned on. When this happens, users can write an explanation for their group members who choose the wrong answer.

Step 10: Send or Create the poll to make it live. This will make the poll public.

To avoid having to use the group poll feature, you can use the Telegram poll bot. Telegram has a lot of polling bots that people can use to vote. If we use the @PollBot in this guide, we'll use that instead. This is how PollBot makes polls: It runs through a script made by a third-party Telegram developer to do so. How to use:

Step 1: Launch the Telegram app on your phone.

Step 2: Place your cursor on the Search field and search for PollBot.

Step 3: Click on Show more if the results displayed do not contain PollBot.

Step 4: Click on PollBot from the results.

Step 5: Activate the bot by clicking Start.

Step 6: On the PollBot chat window, click on the picture of the screen that you want to see.

Use the three vertical dots at the top-right corner of your screen instead of clicking the picture that is on the screen.

Step 7: Click on the three horizontal dots and select Add to Group.

Step 8: Type in the name of your group in the search box. A message from PollBot should appear when you click on your group. This means it has been added to the poll.

Step 9: Click on the group chat that you chose to add the bot to open up the window.

Step 10: From the chat window, select /newpoll or on the text bar, type /newpoll@PollBot.

Step 11: The PollBot will provide guidance to set up your question along with the poll options. Note that you can still add a maximum of ten options to a poll.

Step 12: In the end, type /done. The poll goes live, and it asks people to answer your poll.

POLLBOT VS. POLL FEATURE

The capabilities of the PollBot and the built-in Telegram poll are what distinguishes them. In the group chat or a channel, you can use the bot to share links to your polls and attach media files. The built-in poll tool in Telegram, on the other hand, lacks the additional possibilities. You can also make polls on channels. Telegram channels differ from groups in that you can conduct polls for many user groups at the same time.
