How to Create an NSFW Discord Channel

If you want your Discord server to feature a channel where people can discuss explicit information or use bad language, you must first make it an NSFW (Not Safe For Work or Not Suitable for Wumpus) channel. As a result, anyone under the age of 18 are blocked, and any user who opens the channel receives a "Adult Content" warning message. So, how do you make an NSFW Discord channel?

How to Create an NSFW Discord Channel

The procedure is the same whether you use the Discord app or the website.

1. Make an NSFW channel out of the channel you want to make. Alternatively, you can create one by selecting Server > Create Channel from the drop-down menu.

2. Select the text channel option and give your channel a name. Text channels can be designated as NSFW, but voice channels cannot, therefore bad language is not authorised.

3. Now, in the sidebar, hover your mouse over the channel name. Then, next to the channel name that appears, click the cog button.

4. Select Overview from the channel settings and scroll down to the NSFW Channel option. To make the channel NSFW, turn on the toggle next to the choice.

5. Scroll to the bottom and select Save Changes.

When you're finished, a caution icon should appear in the text message channel. If you're launching for the first time, open it to manually enter your age.

To access the channel, click Continue, or Nope to return to the previous screen.

3. Make the subject as follows: Update my age and complete the remaining fields as needed.

4. Take a picture of yourself carrying a photo ID with your proper date of birth and a piece of paper with your complete username.

5. Save it as an attachment and submit the form.

If the facts are verified, Discord will update them and send you an email, or they can reach out to you on Discord first.

Remember the following guidelines:

Just because a channel is labelled as NSFW doesn't mean that any kind of content is permitted on it.

Harassment, threats, child pornography, animal abuse, spam, DMCA violations, sharing virus-infected files, and attempting to steal other people's accounts are all prohibited and will result in your account being deactivated or deleted.

Wumpus doesn't like it.

Though you must still follow a few guidelines, making your channel unsuitable for Wumpus gives you greater freedom and control. In addition, you can search for new servers that have enabled NSFW. Just make sure it's appropriate for your workplace!
