How to Fix Samsung Phones When Fast Charging Isn't Working

Fast charging is one of those life-changing features found in almost every Samsung phone. You can get through your entire day with just a few minutes of charging. As useful as fast charging is, there may be times when it stops working on your Samsung phone. If you're having trouble with a similar problem, check out this guide for some troubleshooting tips. So, let's take a look.

1. Enable Fast Charging

First and foremost, make sure that your Samsung phone's Fast Charging feature is turned on.

1. Navigate to Battery and device care in the Settings app. After that, choose Battery.

2. More battery settings can be found by scrolling down. After that, make sure the switches next to Fast charging, Super fast charging, and Fast wireless charging are all turned on.

2. Use the Right Adapter and Cable

You must use the correct adapter and cable for fast charging to work. Different power inputs are supported by different phones. As a result, it's critical to use an adapter that's compatible with your phone and supports Adaptive Fast Charging or Super Fast Charging. You should also inspect the USB cable you're using for any damage.

After that, double-check that there are no loose connections and that both the adapter and the cable are securely connected. If possible, try switching to a different power outlet while you're at it.

Additionally, inspect your phone's USB port for any dirt or lint. If there's any dirt, use a cotton swab to carefully clean it.

Finally, if you frequently use apps or play games while charging, your Samsung phone may take longer to charge. As a result, it's best to avoid using your phone to speed up charging.

3. Check Battery Health

Your phone's battery loses capacity and degrades over time as you charge and discharge it. If your Samsung device's battery is old, it may not charge as quickly as it once did.

The Samsung Members app can be used to check the health of your battery. Most Samsung Galaxy devices come with the app pre-installed.

1. Navigate to Battery and device care in the Settings app. Then choose Diagnostics from the drop-down menu. The Samsung Members app will be launched as a result of this action.

2. You can check the health of your battery by tapping on the Battery Status icon. If the reading next to Life is Good or Normal, your battery is in good condition.

4. Disable USB Debugging

If the USB debugging mode is enabled on your Samsung phone, it could cause it to charge slowly or not at all. Fortunately, you can easily turn it off by following the steps below.

Scroll down in the Settings app to find Developer options. Then, under Debugging, turn off the USB debugging switch.

5. Try Safe Mode

It's possible that one of the background third-party apps or services is slowing down your device's charging speed. Booting your phone into Safe Mode is a quick way to confirm this.

Follow the steps below to enter Safe Mode on your Samsung phone.

1. Press down and hold the power button until you see the power off icon.

2. A Safe Mode icon will appear after a long press on the power off icon. Then tap the Safe Mode icon to reboot your phone in Safe Mode.

Charge your Samsung phone for a few minutes in Safe Mode to see if the fast charging is working.

6. Check for Software Updates

If the above solutions haven't worked, you can check for any pending updates on your Samsung device. Aside from new features and improvements, software updates provide your phone with a variety of bug fixes. If the problem is caused by a bug, updating it will help.

Open the Settings app and go to Software update to see if there are any updates available. Then select Download and Install from the drop-down menu.

Your phone will begin searching for and downloading updates on its own.

7. Perform a Factory Reset

Finally, if none of the above methods work, you may want to consider resetting your Samsung phone to factory default settings. This will erase all of your data and reset all of your phone's settings, making it as good as new.

1. Go to General management in the Settings app. Scroll down to the Reset option and tap it.

2. To begin the process, select Factory data reset and then tap Reset.

Fast and Furious

Fast charging is probably right up there with the best mobile innovations of the last decade. It's nearly impossible to go back once you've become accustomed to the lightning-fast charging speeds. Hopefully, the above solutions were successful in permanently resolving the fast charging not working issue on your Samsung device.
