Before you start mining Decentraland MANA, you should do some preliminary investigation to determine if it's viable. The reason behind this is because the price of MANA has been swinging wildly in recent months (at the time this article was written).
And if you've made up your mind, keep reading.
Unlike other Proof-of-Work (PoW) cryptocurrencies (such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and others), MANA uses a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus method, which makes traditional mining impractical.
Alternative ways to profit from Decentraland MANA and the platform's other assets exist, though.
Let's get MANA mining on a computer started.
The Ethereum blockchain is used by Decentraland to track the ownership of all digital assets and trade objects.
It is advised that you use an ERC20 wallet for MANA. Trust Wallet, Atomic Wallet, and MetaMask are all good choices. You'll need to get your wallet's Public Receive Address (this is the address the pool uses to send you your money).
Follow these procedures to get your Decentraland MANA Wallet Address:
1.We'll need a wallet first. To download and install a Metamask Wallet, open a new browser and go to MetaMask.io, then click to Download > Chome > Install MetaMask for Chrome.
2.Click the Metamask extension's icon once it's been installed. You'll be taken to a page that looks like this:
3.After clicking Get Started, select Create a Wallet.
4.Enter the password for your account.
5.Keep a written record of your Secret Recovery Phrase. This is what you'll need to back up and restore your account.
6.Place the words in the exact order to confirm your Secret Recovery Phrase.
7.That is all there is to it. You've just finished making a wallet.
8.Here's where you'll find the wallet's address. We'll need that later, so copy it.
XMRig is available for download through their official website or Github. Look for start.cmd in the downloaded.zip file and open it using a coding editor. Create a new file and put the following codes into it if it does not already exist.
"cd
%~dp0
xmrig.exe -o rx.unmineable.com:3333 -u MANA:0x2800D913b32c8447c296B0D05dFDC7276804415A.wrkID
#3185-zsxj -p x
pause"
There are two lines in this file that need to be changed now.
The Pool URL comes first. It's just after xmrig.exe -o on the second line; depending on your country, replace it with one of the URLs below (select the one closest to your location).
rx-us.unmineable.com:3333
rx-eu.unmineable.com:3333
rx-asia.unmineable.com:3333
The second thing to do is to modify the MANA address to yours.
After MANA:, you must input your wallet's public address (copied in step 1). as well as before the wrkID The general structure of the address is as follows:
1 | MANA:[Wallet address].[workerID] #[Code to lower mining fee] |
The workerID is any name you want to give each machine where the miner is running so that it can be easily identified later in the pool statistics.
The code following the # is required; it lowers the Mining Fee from 1% to 0.75 percent.
As an administrator, run start.cmd now. If everything goes properly, you may now start mining.
Unmineable.com is a mining pool that makes use of RandomX to allow you to mine with your computer's CPU. When you specified the address in the miner start.cmd file, you informed Unmineable that you wish to be paid in MANA coins and provided the address to which they should send the mined MANA coins.
1.To check your balance, log into Unmineable and select the Decentraland Mana you want to mine.
2.Then select the RandomX Tab and fill in the "Enter your address to check your stats:" box with your address.
3.After that, you'll be able to examine your account's balance and even make a payment request. Click "Payout now" to request a payment.
