How to Move Windows 11's Start Menu to the Left

Windows 11's new taskbar and start menu are properly positioned in the centre. However, most users are accustomed to Windows 10's left-aligned start menu and taskbar (and all the previous versions of Windows). So I understand if you wish to return the start menu to its previous location on the left side.

Personally, I like the centred taskbar because it is much more practical to have all of your open programmes in the middle when working on a widescreen (21:9) display. It enables me to move between programmes rapidly.

Changing the placement of the start menu in Windows 11 is a breeze:

1.Open the taskbar's preferences.

2.Select Taskbar Settings from the context menu when you right-click on the taskbar.

Adjust the taskbar's position.

Change the Taskbar orientation to Left and expand the Taskbar behaviours.

When you adjust the taskbar position, the start menu and taskbar will immediately shift to the left side.
