If you have YouTube Premium, you can use the Picture-in-Picture feature. Most browsers already have this feature, but you can't use it unless you have it. PIP mode can be watched on any computer or smartphone. There are a few clever tricks to do this. So you don't have to worry about it, either. So, here's how you can watch YouTube in PIP mode without paying for it on Android, iOS, and on your computer or tablet.
On Android, you can use the VLC player app to get into PiP mode on YouTube. There is now a way to play any video on the web with VLC Player. You don't have to do anything else. You just have to paste the URL of the video you want to watch into the VLC Player. But you can speed up the process and make it even more simple. Here's how to.
1. First, get the VLC player app from the Google Play Store if you don't already have it.
2. Now, go to YouTube and play any video you want to play on the PIP Mode.
3. Now, tap on the Share button below the video and select the Play with VLC option in the Share sheet.
4. That YouTube video will start playing on the VLC Player. Now just tap on the three-dot menu at the bottom right corner of the player.
5. In the menu, choose Pop-Up player.
As soon as you do this, the video will start playing in the PiP mode. You can go back and use your phone while the video is playing on YouTube in the PiP mode.
Google is only giving the PiP mode feature to people who pay for their service, but Apple's Safari browser lets you use it for free. To get to this feature, you can use the YouTube web app on Safari instead of the YouTube app. Here's how to.
1. Open YouTube on the Safari browser and sign in to the service.
2. Now, open the video that you like to play on PIP Mode.
3. Then enable the Full-screen mode option. Without full-screen mode enabled, you cannot play the video on the PIP Mode.
4. Safari is now closed. You can now swipe up or press the home button to make it go away. The YouTube video you're watching on Safari will still be playing in PIP mode even if you close Safari.
There are now a lot of browsers that can run in PIP mode, like Chrome and other Chromium browsers, Firefox and Safari, and so on. You can use the built-in browser to watch YouTube on PIP. Here's how to.
1. Open the YouTube video that you like to play on PIP mode on your browser.
2. Now right-click on the video to open the context menu. It should open the YouTube context menu which doesn’t has the PIP option.
3. Right-click the video again. It will open the browser's context menu, where you should be able to find the Picture-in-Picture setting. Click it.
This will start the video in PIP mode. This means you can close the browser and use other apps while the video is on in the PIP.
Even though YouTube doesn't let you use PIP mode for free, you can still use these methods to get the feature without breaking any of the site's rules. Only VLC Player and browsers are being used. There are other ways to play music from YouTube music in the background without having to pay for it, too.
