After receiving an update only a few days ago, it's the Beta Channel Insiders' turn to sit on the bench and watch as the opposition team receives the new ball this week.
After a two-week period of no Dev channel releases, the Redmond-based software giant has finally released build 22557.
You should be aware that this Dev channel release is currently being moved to the NI RELEASE or Nickel branch in anticipation of Windows 11's major feature update later this year.
There's a lot of new stuff here, including a redesigned Task Manager, Focus, and new Snap layouts, among other things.
However, before we dive in and find out what Microsoft altered with this latest software patch, let's have a look at the TLDR section:
To make a folder, simply drag one app over the top of another. You may add more apps to a folder, reorganise apps within it, and delete apps from it.
With DND and Focus, Microsoft claims to have redesigned focus experiences on Windows. While do not disturb makes it simple to turn off notifications, Focus is a brand-new experience that allows everyone to stay present.
Attention combines with the Clock app for extra focus aids, such as a focus timer and calming music, to help you stay on target.
Live captions have also been added to this build, which will enable everyone, including deaf or hard-of-hearing persons, better understand audio by reading captions of spoken information.
Captions are generated automatically on-device from any audio source and can be presented at the top, bottom, or in a floating window.
The Quick Access feature in File Explorer is getting an update from the tech giant. To begin, Pin to Quick Access capability has been expanded to include Files in addition to Folders.
It's also worth noting that pinned files are displayed in a new section above Recent files in Quick Access.
We've added OneDrive integration to File Explorer to help you keep track of your storage usage and make sure your files are syncing.
You may now monitor your sync status and quota consumption when browsing your OneDrive folders without having to exit File Explorer.
For those of you who use the new OS on tablets or phones, this version features five new touch gestures that make navigating Windows 11 on a PC with touch easier and faster.
Improved Snap Layouts, more sustainable power settings and recommendations, Task Manager Redesign & Efficiency Mode, and greater improvements to online browsing in Microsoft Edge with Narrator are among the other new features.
On the official Microsoft blog article, you can learn more about all of the changes and improvements made, as well as any known concerns.
