We all enjoy receiving prizes, and for some, the sensation of working toward such a goal improves gameplay.
Xbox players are no strangers to this sensation, as earning points through the Game Pass service is no longer new to many of them.
If you farm these daily and weekly activities, simply starting a game or finishing a specific quest in another can turn into substantial money.
However, there have been reports that Microsoft has done it again, and the reward system has been significantly weakened.
The conversion of points results in 1 point being worth $0.001. In other words, if you have 10.000 points, you are entitled to $10 in qualified prizes.
Thus, if you were extremely active and completed all of the tasks on a consistent basis, you should be looking at hundreds of dollars, which might pay for the next triple-A title or perhaps a new console.
We said were because all of that is no longer a possibility, and collecting points as quickly and efficiently as you did is no longer an option.
Players are outraged after learning of a severe nerf to the Game Pass reward system, which would seriously stymie any short-term future acquisition plans they had.
So, in terms of modifications, what are we looking at right now? To begin with, there will be no more daily logins to the mobile app quest, which means fewer points.
Furthermore, players will be unable to participate in the weekly GP accomplishment quest. The monthly criteria are missing the Play 10 different games and Download 5 games via app quests.
These modifications were not mentioned, but they are easy to see by looking at this month's reward points. In March, there are only 885 points available, down from 3730 last month.
You might earn up to 900 points each month just by completing the Game Pass Daily Challenges. You can only get 300 points from daily tasks under the new restrictions.
BEFORE = ~3730 per month
NOW = ~885 per month
