Are you curious in what else Microsoft has planned for their browser? Actually, the IT behemoth is experimenting with new ways to provide quick access to apps, tools, and web-based platforms.
The current Canary release of the Chromium-based web browser now features a Microsoft Office button, according to Edge users on Reddit.
Keep in mind, however, that this functionality is not enabled by default, implying that the testing phase is still ongoing.
What this means is that Edge could soon provide easy access to Microsoft Office apps or web-based platforms like Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, and OneNote via this new control.
The new Office button is deactivated by default, as noted above, however enabling this experimental function is rather simple.
You'll need to hunt for it on the Appearance page, so open the newest experimental version of Edge and type "dge:/settings/appearance" into the search box.
"dge://settings/appearance"
As you may be aware, this page also allows you to enable or disable Internet Explorer mode, Web Capture, Share, Games, and other options that appear alongside the URL bar.
The Office button is located directly above the Feedback button. The trick is that Microsoft has added Microsoft Office access to the ellipsis menu even if you don't allow it.
Additionally, enabling the Office icon adds a dedicated button to the toolbar, which opens a sidebar with access to all Microsoft Office suite platforms.
