The Story feature has been introduced into the Messenger app by Facebook. But what good is such integration if the most recent stories don't surface in the app? Here's how to get your Facebook Messenger tale to appear on your iPhone or Android.
Some of your Facebook pals may go overboard and bombard your news feed with stories all day. You won't see their stories in the Story tab if you've muted them. It's time to remove their mute status from Messenger's settings.
Step 1: Open the Messenger app on Android or iPhone.
Step 2: Tap on the profile picture at the top.
Step 3: Select the Story menu.
Step 4: Go to the ‘Stories you’ve muted’ menu.
Step 5: At the top of the page, you'll discover the muted pals list. Remove them from the list and click the Apply button.
You should then be able to see all of your friends' tales.
The Messenger app has a built-in data saver mode that allows you to reduce your mobile data usage. If you have data saver mode activated, Messenger may have trouble loading stories in your account.
Step 1: Launch Messenger and go to your account.
Step 2: Select Data Saver and disable the toggle from the following menu.
On the iPhone, you can block mobile data for specific apps. It's possible that you've turned off Messenger's ability to use mobile data on your iPhone. In the app, you won't be able to send messages or even see stories.
Step 1: Open Settings on iPhone and scroll down to the Messenger app.
Step 2: Enable mobile data toggle.
On Facebook, you may conceal a storey from someone, just like on Snapchat and Instagram. You won't be able to see the other person's storey in the Messenger app if they've concealed it from you on Facebook.
When someone hides your storey from you, Instagram doesn't tell you. You can assume you've been hidden from people on Facebook if you haven't seen a storey from someone (who routinely posts stories on Facebook) in a long time.
On Android, you can force the app to close and try again. That manner, you'll be resetting the programme and relaunching it from the beginning.
Step 1: Long-tap on the Messenger app icon and go to the app info menu.
Step 2: At the bottom, press the Force stop button.
Close the app info panel and try again to open Messenger. The app will begin to display stories.
To make common tasks speedier, Android accumulates cache in the background. Messenger lag can be caused by an overabundance of such data. You may not be able to see messages in the app in some instances. To clear the Messenger cache on Android, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Long-press on the Messenger app icon and open the app info menu.
Step 2: Select the Storage option.
Step 3: Clear cache from the following menu.
Are you using an old version of Messenger on your iPhone or Android device? It's possible that you'll have issues with stories not appearing in the app.
Go to the Play Store or the App Store and download the most recent version of Messenger.
It's possible that Messenger servers are having a bad day. You won't be able to use the app to send or receive messages, share media, or do anything else.
You can go to Downdetector and use Facebook Messenger to validate the problem. Wait for the company to fix the problem, and stories will begin to surface in the app for you.
You can also access uploaded stories through the Facebook app. Open Facebook and go through the top stories.
Despite being a blatant rip-off of Snapchat, Facebook has done a good job of delivering stories to every app and platform. It's possible that you'll have trouble checking fresh stories in the Messenger app at times. The actions outlined above should help you resolve the problem quickly.
