Outlook HTML signature: how to do it

Outlook HTML signature: how to do it

The best Outlook signatures are HTML signatures. The image of your signature will get distorted on different devices if it's a simple image. If you use simple text for your signature, it will appear unprofessional.

It is well worth your time to create an Outlook HTML signature. You will make a great impression on your recipients and encourage them to contact you.

Does Outlook support HTML signatures?

In Outlook, you can add HTML signatures, but you must have a pre-made HTML signature handy. With Wisestamp's Outlook HTML signature generator you can create a stunning responsive HTML email signature with ease (even if you are a coder).

In Outlook, an HTML signature can be manually installed in 3 steps. You can learn how to do this by reading on.

In Outlook, how to create a custom HTML signature

Adding a HTML signature to Outlook can be done in three ways.

  1. Creating your signature block from scratch
  2. Using HTML email signatures
  3. Using a word processor such as MS Word or Google Docs to create a signature

The first option of coding the HTML yourself can be frustrating and time-consuming even if you know your way around coding.

Luckily there’s a way to make an HTML signature even if you’ve never seen a line of code your entire life. This brings us to the second option of using an email signature generator.

WiseStamp’s free signature generator is most likely the most powerful and richest editor you’ll encounter for creating your signature. Though, there are many other options out there that make basic signature designs.

The whole process of creating your HTML signature with WiseStamp will take you about 5 minutes and the installation in Outlook is done automatically by us.

Your end result can be as minimalist or as rich as you’d like (we have loads of design and feature options).

Creating an Outlook signature design in Microsoft Word or Google Docs is another option if you want a basic signature.

We recommend you use a table to arrange the signature components visually. For more information on how to design your Outlook signature, check out our examples

Add an HTML signature to Outlook manually

The process of adding an HTML signature to your Outlook is actually very easy, but a bit tricky as well.

Note: If you use Wisestamp, there is no need for any of these steps because our tool builds your signature in HTML, and after you're done, it will automatically install your signature in Outlook, so you don't have to do anything.

  1. Your first step is to create an HTML signature from scratch. Assuming you followed the previous step in this guide, you already have your signature ready (you can also download this outlook html signature template).
  2.  The next step is to paste your raw HTML into this free online HTML editor. Simply drop the code on the right side panel. Ensure that everything is in the right place on the left side panel.

Make sure there is some white space between the image and the text in an HTML signature with an image. If you added icons, make sure they are not overlapping. From the left panel, select the rendered HTML and copy it to Outlook.

3.Finally, open Outlook signature settings and paste your rendered HTML signature directly into the integrated Outlook signature editor. For detailed instructions on how to do this, refer to the guides below.

What is the process for creating an HTML signature in Outlook Mobile?

For mobile devices, Outlook does not support rich HTML signatures. Instead, you can create an HTML signature in plain text. All Outlook signatures on Android and iOS use HTML) but their signature settings are limited.

You can add text and hyperlinks, but you cannot use images or change the size or color of your signature. If this changes, we will notify you.
