Open YouTube and go to the top of the page to the account image. Turn on Incognito mode to watch YouTube in private mode without seeing an update banner.

Long-press the YouTube app icon on Android to get the app info menu. From the following option, disable the app.
Long-press YouTube on your iPhone and select Remove YouTube. iPadOS will delete the programme if you tap the Delete app button.
