Many Samsung apps, such as Gallery, Notes, Contacts, Files, and others, contain a Trash folder. If you wish to free up space on your Samsung Galaxy phone, you must remove the trash in all apps. Alternatively, you can empty the trash in certain programmes. Let's see where the trash is in Samsung Galaxy phones and how to empty it.
Trash, commonly known as the Recycle Bin, is a folder in which deleted objects are stored for up to 15 or 30 days, depending on the software. You can restore deleted items like photographs, movies, messages, contacts, and so on within this time, but the items in the Trash are permanently deleted after that. Trash basically aids in the recovery of deleted items if they were unintentionally erased.
Garbage things, as expected, take up storage space until they're removed. Emptying the Samsung Trash folder from various apps is a fantastic way to clear up space on your phone. Please keep in mind that even if you're using two apps for the same purpose, you must empty the trash for each one separately. If you're using a third-party file management programme, such as Files by Google, be sure you empty it as well as the Samsung Files app's trash.
1. Go to your phone's app store and download the Samsung Gallery app.
2. Tap the three-bar icon on the Gallery app's home screen. Choose Trash from the drop-down menu.
Tip: Look under the three-dot icon if you don't find Trash under the three-bar icon.
3. You'll be taken to the Trash folder, where you'll find the deleted photos and videos. If you wish to delete certain stuff from Trash, go to Edit at the top. Then choose the things you want to delete and press the Delete button.
4. Tap the three-dot button next to Edit and select Empty to erase all items from the Trash. In the confirmation pop-up that appears, tap Empty Trash.

If you use the Google Photos app on your Samsung Galaxy phone, you must empty the trash in addition to Samsung apps. Please bear in mind that the trash folders for Google Photos and the Samsung Gallery app are different and must be cleared independently.
1. On your phone, open the Google Photos app.
2. On the next screen, tap the Trash button after tapping the Library tab at the bottom.
3. To clear all the things in the Trash folder, hit the three-dot icon and select Empty trash.
Samsung doesn't provide a built-in option to delete trash files from all apps with a single press. It does, however, display trash files from several Samsung apps on a single interface, from which you may simply delete them.
1. Go to your phone's settings.
2. Select Storage from the Battery and Device Care menu.
3. Go to the Trash section by scrolling down. Tap the apps whose trash you'd like to get rid of. Depending on the app, you may need to hit the three-dot icon followed by Empty to view the Empty option at the top, or you may need to press the three-dot icon followed by Empty.
Note that the apps will only appear in the Trash area if they have stuff in their trash folder.
Clearing the cache for apps might also help you free up space on your phone. Go to Settings > Apps to do so. Tap the Storage option on the app whose cache you wish to remove. Finally, press the Clear cache button. Your personal files will not be deleted from the app if you do so. It will just delete the app's temporary data.
In Samsung's apps, you can disable the trash folder. To disable trash, go to the app's settings and disable the Trash toggle. Anything you erase will be permanently deleted if you disable the recycle bin folder. You will not be able to recover it.
You should force close or restart your phone after clearing trash in an app to reflect changes in storage.
One of the reasons that Samsung Galaxy phones' storage is full is because of trash. Other reasons to know what's taking up space on your phone can be found here.
